My Class Four 2-person dialogue. Final turn in.

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

So here it is. Over 2 months worth of work for a 13 sec clip of animation. Its been a great experience and has only made me more hungry to tackle more acting/ character shots in the future.

Another update for the night.

Mid week update of animation

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

More great notes! More adjustments. I’m about 1/2 way down my notes list and still trying to plug away. Funny how as you’re putting check marks by your first list, a few more lists develop on your overall polish.

Class 4: Two person dialogue. Spline/Polish

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

So here we are. My first attempt at polish and spline for this shot. Its looking ROUGH. Lots of arc tracking to be done and some tightening up on spacing. I’m really unhappy at how cam03 came out. Lots of adjustments overall. Going to be a lot of work, but looking forward to the challenge. Typically I get a bit lost during this stage, but im going to take it a piece at a time.

Latest adjusmtents for my Blocking Plus.

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

So for this update I have received some great feedback from my last version. This contains reblocks of the screen left character in cam02. And a full reblock of the helmet character in cam05. At first it seemed like pulling teeth, but now I’m really liking the reblocks much much more than the originals. Funny how it works out that way. More updates to come!

Another pass of blocking for my 2 person dialogue assignment.

So we’re more than 1/2 way through class 4 here at AM. I effectively have about 3 weeks left to take this animation from blocking plus into spline and polish. I’ve tried to refine some of my facial expressions, mouth shapes, poses and inbetweens. I’m now trying to imagine more performance timing and spacing that can be added later on, so I may have to shift a few keys and inbetweens. But overall I think a few of the beats are hitting well and a few may be good to stay as is. I’m still having qualms with the excitement level of the helmet character and some his acting in cam 03.  Overall I hope to take a step back consult some peers, redo some specific vid ref stuff for more subtle moves and try to take it to final in the upcoming weeks.
