My progress reel for Animation Mentor

Friday, December 19th, 2008

Here are my collected works through Class 3. Nick Bruno is a phenomenal animator and mentor. I felt prievleged to get him during such a great class. Classmates were great as well. Learned a massive ton of animation knowledge and looking forward to applying those skills to future shots. Lots more to learn however and a bunch more practice to be undertaken. But hell, if this weren’t fun I wouldn’t even bother typing this out.

During Q n A we were chatting about what happens if you walk and away and are really not liking your shot? Well Nick mentioned that you’re pretty much learning something and that you should walk away from shots like that somewhat content that you’re learning and hell you ‘ve got a shot done. Well then I must be learning, cause man… We’ll see how next term’s dialogue shot comes along. I have a feeling the clarity of the shot will definitely be something i’ll throw more chips in.

Any how. Here goes :

Animation Mentor : Blocking Plus

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

Put in a bit of overshoot and followthrough. Put in some great notes from Nick. And overall just feel better about a lot of the decisions in this pass of blocking. May have to dial back a few things as I start splining. To maintain the subdued nature of the dialogue as a whole. Lots more work to do.
